The Aga Khan Palace

So many places to visit in Pune, all round the seasons in India but without the enthu to travel enjoy such places of great interest is truely a waste.
After lots of planning, deciding and thinking, finally i could visit the most talked and heard of the Aga Khan Palace, near Yerawada, Pune with an old friend of mine who also likes visiting places.

All thanks to his GPS sys in mobile, I could reach the palace in afternoon with lots of twists and turns and treading wrong paths and taking lots of U turns ! Yes its actually confusing for the first time visitor to spot it since its covered with lots of trees...

The great Aga Khan Palace welcomes you with a grand entrance and surprises you with the vastness of area its built on ! Yes it has ample parking space and smooth, green lawns all around. Its a bliss, a gift or should I say a treat to mind and eyes to see a palace located in the heart of the city today spread across over so many acres. I may have read in history about this historical monument but only after visiting it could I amuse myself to know Gandhiji, the father of nation was here, his wife, the great strong lady with him, Kasturbha Gandhi died here and also Sarojini Naidu was kept here and how can I forget Gandhiji's great companion all through his ups and downs, his secretary also lived and died here. I couldnt control my enthusiasm to see the more of it.

As a historical monument, Indian visitors are charged Rs 5/- as entry fee and Foreign visitors are charged 100 bucks.... Below pics should speak everything rather than I type...
